Cheap & Cute Henckel's

They cut sharp enough, it's just they're very light-weighted so they don't have the stability feeling which I think the only drawback if you expect something decent. Otherwise the price is right, you'll be happy with the well functioning colourful little knives!
My favorite "every-day" knives ...

These are *extremely* sharp, really high quality knives for the price. I have a really good, really expensive set of knives that I use for "specialty" tasks, but I find myself grabbing these little knives for my normal day-to-day use.
I also have the other inexpensive Henckels set, the one that includes these three knives plus a red-handled longer knife. It's not worth the extra money, in my view. That little red knife has a rounded tip, is serrated, and the only thing I ended up using it for was slicing sandwiches. For the money, this set of three knives is an outstanding value. I just bought another set to have a spare. |
well priced and useful for daily chores

Colorful handles stick out in the drawer. I find these paring knifes generally to be incredibly useful in food prep for everyday dinners and bag lunches for school/work.So they last about a eightteen months without sharpening even if you throw them in the dishwasher. However, I would never pay more than ten dollars for the set. These are NOT a replacement for your good knives that need to be sharpened and handwashed (which I use when preparing food where appearance and consistency of cut size is important). They are just a good extra set of paring knives the price of which allows you to abuse them and not feel guilty when you dispose of them down the line.
GREAT KNIVES!

THESE ARE GREAT KNIVES! I ALWAYS BUY HENCKELS AND HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A SET OF THE SMALL PARING KNIVES. THIS IS A SET OF 3 AT A FANTASTIC PRICE! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Like them so much I bought spares

I purchased the 4-knife set with the small wood block. These knives are so sharp, you better be careful how you handle them. And they're so reasonably priced, handle them a LOT!!! I use them for everything you might imagine you'd need a sharp knife for. Some of the things I use them for might make you cringe, but hey -- I've got spares and at this price, I'll likely buy more!
Get these (or the 4-knife set with wood block) while the getting is good. Nice gift too -- for the cooks on your shopping list. |

Couldn't resist the cliche. The 5 star is based upon value. Knives work very well, are very sharp, comfortable to use, and have held up well over just a couple months.
Not the same as the green paring knife in the 4 knife set

I love these knives and was hoping to buy another set for a friend. The green paring knife with this set of 3 is a little shorter than the green knife I already have from a four knife set. Don't know if the product has changed or whether they are actually different.
But they cut beautifully. Sharpest knives I've ever used. |
Really, REALLY Sharp!

Yes, they are lightweight, but they are EXTREMELY sharp! I can't see using them for major jobs, but for peeling, cutting, slicing & dicing small amounts of food, they are wonderful! I definitely recommend storing in a knife block to prevent accidents. I've been using mine for about 6 months, and they are still razor-sharp. A definite recommendation!

I purchased these knives to add to my collection. My son-in-law was asked to carve the turkey on Thanksgiving Day and was quite disturbed at the quality of the knife he used so he gave me a set of Henckels for Christmas. Wow!! What a difference a sharp knife can make!! I love them and wanted to add more, and for the price, it was easy to do. They are colorful and I use them everyday.

I have liked the very sharp edges I find on good quality knives and shears that have appeared in the last few years. This product does well what I bought it to do in my home.
You need these knives!!

I got these to treat myself. Wow big spender!!
I've had them for about 2 months and I am pretty sure I use the yellow one every single day.
They are still as sharp as the day I got them. When I cut apples, it just slices the seeds with ease.
They are just awesome for the money. They are value Henkels, so I don't have to scream when I see someone put the knife in the dishwasher.

Brightly colored handles keep us out of therapy

Review Date: February 8, 2008
Reviewer: Lockie Hunter, Asheville, NC USA
With our other good Henckels, the handles are black and thus look like the el-cheapo steak knives, so they get tossed in the dishwasher by mistake by me, the scatterbrained wife, and that is (one of) my husband's pet peeves. That, and cutting in his pans. Don't ever cut in the man's precious pans...so we bought these brightly colored ones. Good stuff, and cheaper than couples therapy.
Not bad for the price:

I can see these knives aren't going to last a long time, but they are not bad for the price. I'm glad I bought them. I'll use them up and buy better quality next time. I'm hoping Henckels has these same shapes in knives with better blades. I'd never used a curved paring knife before trying out this set. I love the thing. Learning to use it was worth the price of the set.
Very useful

We kept going to stores to buy this type of knife, get them home and discover we had purchased a streamlined butter spreader. These are sharp, well made knives, we actually accidentaly put one through a dishwasher cycle and guess what, it was still as sharp as when it came out of the package!
Good product with a good price.

Quality knives from JA Henckles with a reasonable price and item was delivered timely. Despite made in China, they all work out fine and made no different with the last sets I had which is of Germany origin.
