| I purchased this three piece paring knife set in addition to a more expensive Henckels paring knife J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 3-Inch High Carbon Stainless Steel Paring Knife. This set is good quality. Stamped on the blades are the words "German Stainless Steel" and "Made in China". They have a good sharp edge and a textured, shaped plastic handle that provides a good grip. The package says that the knives are "stamped one-piece blade construction for strength and durability". It also says that the handles are "fully closed polypropylene", "breakproof, dishwasher safe, and hygienic." They are lightweight and have a nice finish on the blades. |

This is a fantastic set at a great price that is indispensable in my kitchen. I love the blade shapes, lightness and sharpness of these knifes. I use them mostly for carving and garnishing, and they feel very comfortable in my hand and results are always great.
My favorite one is the smallest with a curved blade. It helps me create very attractive garnishes from fruits that are next to impossible with a straight edge peeler. These types of knives sell as open stock for 3 times the cost of the set!! Highly recommend. Good brand, great quality. Simply can't go wrong here. |

For the price, this is the best set of paring knives I have ever used. I like these thinner and sharper blades because they make it easier to peel fruit or cut up vegetables. I also have a larger Henckels knife with jagged edge to use for cutting loaves of bread, and a larger knife with smooth blade for cutting larger pieces of food. This is my favorite brand of knives for the quality and sharpness. Yeah, you could probably spend more money and get fancy chef style knives, but these are the best for the price.
It seems the Germans make good blades because I have a 20+ year old pair of hair scissors made by Solingen that say made in West Germany (that ought to tell you how old they are!) and I still use them today, although now I use them for cutting paper for crafts projects, not for cutting hair. But they are still just as sharp as they ever were and have never been sharpened by me. Off topic, I know. And the Henckels knives are not actually MADE in Germany, but still. |
Good knives at a good price

| I'll be honest, I have a complete set of more expensive Henckle knives, the Four Star series, and really only bought these as companion pieces and to use for utility purposes (opening packages, boxes, etc.) and that is exactly how I use the smaller one. But I find myself reaching for the other two to do most of my small food chopping jobs. For the price this is a terrific set. I stick them in the dishwasher and I haven't had any problems! |
For the price, an amazing set of knives.

I have owned knives with riveted handles for as far back as I can remember. While they are fine for Chefs Knives and Utility Knives, I have never liked their bulky feel for paring knives. After using some "As Seen On TV" knife with a similar ergonomic handle I was hooked on the feel and decided to purchase some new paring knives.
My only complaint would have to that the edge, right out of box, felt a little rough. They cut well enough, but on tougher foods I felt it was grabbing a bit too much. Five minutes on the Lansky Universal Sharpening System quickly corrected that, though.
They may not be the best knives you have ever used, but for the price I could hardly ask for more. I certainly don't foresee replacing them anytime soon. |
Good but a little longer than I like

| These are good sharp knives. The two are a little longer than I like but they cut well and the handle feels good in your grip. We've been using them and they have retained their sharpness. |
Very Sharp

I have a Henckels bread knife which I love so when I decided to order a new paring knife I looked to them again.
These knives are very sharp. I cut myself without realizing it. It cuts deeply & quickly. Be careful.
I bought the set for the paring knife & it works wonderfully. I don't think I have mastered using the other two knives as yet. |
